Frequently Asked Questions

1.

The roof from inside my car is sagging. How can this be fixed?

Over time, the headliners in all vehicles begin to sag. In fact, reupholstering headliners is one of the most common projects completed at D&R for. First, we remove all moldings, clips, and accessories that hold the headliner board to the metal ceiling. Next, we remove the board from the car, strip off the old material, and clean off the old foam. Afterwards, new material is glued to the board and then reinstalled in the vehicle. Turnaround time on this type of job is typically half-day.

2.

Should I have my convertible top installed before or after I paint my car?

We recommend having your convertible top installed before you paint your car. Ideally, you should do all necessary bodywork to the vehicle and have the car in primer ready for paint. At this point, have us install your convertible top and take it back to the body shop for paint.

3.

Do I need an appointment to get an estimate?

No, you do not need an appointment to get an estimate. Just stop in either of our locations at any time Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm or Saturday from 8:30am to 1pm and we will give you a free estimate on the spot. Or, you can send an estimate request through the link on the top of this page.

How do I take care of my new leather interior?

The best way to care for your new leather interior is to clean and condition your seats every two months. Leather conditioner prevents your leather from drying out by restoring the natural oils in the material.

5.

For your boat covers, why do you stand by using Top Gun® material?

We recommend using Top Gun® material for our boat covers for one reason - it is the best. Top Gun® material is the only fabric that is both water-proof & water-repellent. All other materials on the market, are only water-repellent. It is also light weight, durable, and it breathes. Other materials available per request.

Why does my old convertible top leak?

Convertible tops can leak for several reasons. Although the most common reason for a leak is a slice in the top, there are several other reasons a convertible top can leak, including: faulty latches, misaligned doors, misaligned windows, clogged gutters, worn out weather stripping, and misaligned frame, windows, or doors. If your top is currently leaking be sure to tell us where the leak is before we install your new top in order to remedy the problem.
